Really appreciate all the great comments from everyone! Thanks for taking the time and sharing yer mind.
To kind of answer many of the inquiries as to 'What it means' or what the 'message' is, all I can say is that it does have a pretty specific message but also contains many elements that are spontaneous 'accidents' of the painting process as well as things simply intended to provoke mystery.
I didn't make any pre-sketches for this, I just painted it with a loose idea and let it grow from there, adding elements as they came to me. Everything is painted out of my head except for the vulture and camera which were from photo ref. and the woman whom is a friend that posed for this...
The woman is chained to the 'Beast thing' with a super thin chain of gold, which is hard to see in this pic. She's a slave but with such a small, easily breakable thing holding her, one is made to ask if she's really not chosen to stay... Where is this room and what is behind the curtain? The 'Beast thing' is full of symbolism, some old/ancient, some new - some from actual history, some made up. I don't intend to decode it all for you, it's left up to you to decide what it could mean...
However, for those that can't see it all, these things are there:
- Surveillance camera, vulture, factory emitting green smoke, city under construction, obelisk, diamond ring around neck of 'dragon' (with skin like the American flag which is also wearing Mickey Mouse ears), a prison, a Templar cross, an ATM thing spewing out green 'material', a TV type thing, an arm with 'bionic' or cyborg type components, a purse, oil spill, sex, gold chain, junk, Freemasonry symbol...
The red curtain came to me as a last part of the composition and I couldn't help but think of Twin Peaks after I painted it, hence the title -- which when you really decipher all of this, fits quite well...
